Homemade Sports Drink Recipe

Have you read the ingredients of some of the sports drinks on the market?

Modified food starch, Red 40, Glycerol Ester of Rosin, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Sucrose Acetate Isobutyrate. What?!

Livestrong.com says the Center for Science in the Public Interest states “artificial food colors have been found to cause damage to DNA” as well as bladder tumors and other forms of cancers in mice.

I don’t think so!

Homemade Sports Drink Recipe

BUT! There is a solution! This AWESOME homemade Sports Drink! Here it is:

4 cups water
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup honey
1 1/2 tsp. salt

Stir and enjoy!

It will replace your electrolytes just like the store bought sports drinks but without the added junk.

If you want to try something other than lemon juice, you can use any citrus juice!

P.S. I drank this when I had Baby #2 at home. That’s hard work too. ?
